These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BukuMu ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using BukuMu, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

BukuMu is a microlearning platform that generates insight cards and quizzes from books to help you retain what you read. Features include a personal library, highlights, notes, and quiz history.

2. Accounts

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use BukuMu.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for more than 24 months.

3. Subscription and Billing

BukuMu is a paid service billed annually. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis until you cancel.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from the Settings page. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period - there are no partial refunds.
  • Refunds: If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days at [email protected] and we will review your case.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use BukuMu for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the generated content at scale
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Upload or transmit any malicious code

5. Intellectual Property

The BukuMu platform, including its design, code, and generated content, is owned by BukuMu. Book titles and author names are trademarks of their respective owners. Insight cards and quiz questions are generated summaries for educational purposes and do not reproduce substantial portions of copyrighted works.

Your personal highlights and notes remain yours. We do not claim ownership of content you write.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

BukuMu is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the generated content is always accurate. Insight cards are summaries intended to aid learning, not verbatim reproductions of source material.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BukuMu's liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to the Service

We may modify or discontinue features of BukuMu at any time. For material changes that affect paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable advance notice.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you by email for material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
